Moscow court has arrested writer Dmitry Bykov (recognized as a foreign agent media in the Russian Federation) in absentia in a case about fake news about the Russian army. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the court.
On August 8, the Cheryomushkinsky Court of Moscow received a petition from the investigation to choose a preventive measure in the form of an arrest in absentia against the writer, who is accused of publicly disseminating knowingly false information about the Russian Armed Forces motivated by political hatred.
In July, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs put Bykov on the wanted list. The specific criminal article was not specified. He left the country in 2022 after the start of the military operation. After that, he was added to the register of foreign agents.
