The world's oldest horse, once owned by a legendary actor, has died

The world's oldest horse, once owned by a legendary actor, has died, reports The Guardian.
Moki, an Arabian horse that was recently recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the world's oldest living horse, died in Florida - just a few weeks after his age was officially confirmed. At the time of death, the animal was 40 years and 83 days old, which corresponds to approximately 115 human years.
Moki was born on February 21, 1985, on the farm of famous actor Burt Reynolds. He was bred as a personal horse for the Golden Globe and Emmy award winner and remained on his ranch until 1992, when he was sold.
Later, the animal came under the care of Florida resident Arika Dzama. According to her, Moki became not just a pet, but a real therapeutic companion for people in difficult life circumstances.
"He loved to eat, adored being groomed, and happily gave kisses. Every day with him was special," Dzama shared.
According to the owner, she had hoped that Moki would live until the day when he would officially receive the title of the oldest horse, but the animal died before the honoring ceremony. Nevertheless, Arika is proud that his longevity was recognized at an international level.
"This is something I will always cherish. He was truly a special guy," the American added.
