SOCAR and MEDİA have launched a series of energy seminars for young journalists
The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the Media Development Agency (MEDİA), within the framework of the Energy Dialogue Platform, launched a series of informational sessions for young journalists on the topic "New Challenges in Global Energy Markets: Reliable Partnership and the Strategic Role of Azerbaijan."

The event is timed to coincide with National Press Day and will continue until July 3.
Journalists from 30 media organizations will attend presentations on energy security, global energy transformation, key trends in global energy markets, as well as SOCAR's areas of activity (upstream, midstream, downstream). Participants can look forward to discussions and field tours.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, MEDIA Executive Director Ahmed Ismayilov noted that understanding regional and global energy processes, as well as objective and professional coverage of complex topics, are important tasks facing the media today. He stated that the series of informational sessions organized for journalists is an important platform that serves to strengthen professional specialization in Azerbaijani media, especially in the energy sector, which is considered a strategic industry.
SOCAR Executive Director for Communications Aygun Huseynova provided information in her speech about the Energy Dialogue Platform initiative and the series of informational sessions. She reported that this initiative is aimed at creating an open, professional, and sustainable dialogue environment among stakeholders associated with the energy sector. The Executive Director also expressed confidence that the informational sessions will contribute to further raising the awareness of journalists covering energy-related topics.
Presentations and speeches by SOCAR's executives concerning specific areas of the company's activities were then heard.
SOCAR Vice President Arzu Javadova provided information about the company's extensive experience in exploration and prospecting operations, modern approaches applied in geological and geophysical research, and international projects.
Company Vice President Afghan Isayev, who provided information about the steps being taken toward ensuring a fair energy transition in Azerbaijan, spoke about SOCAR's "green agenda," decarbonization and low-carbon projects, as well as effective cooperation with international energy companies.
SOCAR Vice President Zaur Gurbanov highlighted the company's achievements in strengthening financial sustainability, improving international ratings, and developing functional excellence, emphasizing that they create additional opportunities for participation in international investment projects.
Advisor to the President of SOCAR and Chief Executive Officer of "SOCAR Türkiye" Elchin Ibadov spoke about the strategic projects implemented by the company in Turkey in the fields of energy, logistics, and operations, the successes achieved, as well as the latest innovations in the establishment of artificial intelligence centers and data centers.
Deputy Vice President of the company Ayten Farzaliyeva, noting that transforming oil capital into human capital is one of SOCAR's main areas of activity, spoke about projects implemented to develop the company's human resource potential and the results achieved.
The event then continued with a question-and-answer session, during which responses were provided to questions of interest to media representatives.
