The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the completion of strikes against Iran in response to the incident involving the downing of an Apache helicopter, Oxu.Az reports.
"CENTCOM forces have completed self-defense strikes against Iran by order of the commander-in-chief in response to the downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter yesterday," the command said in a post on its X page.
The targets of the U.S. military strikes were Iranian radars, air defense systems, and ground control stations near the Strait of Hormuz, CENTCOM added.
"CENTCOM forces struck Iranian air defenses, ground control stations, and radar posts near the Strait of Hormuz," the command said.
According to CENTCOM, the strikes were carried out "with precision munitions employed by U.S. Air Force and Navy fighter aircraft."
The United States has launched a second wave of strikes against Iran.

Meanwhile, the Telegram channel "Free Iran," citing the Tasnim agency, reports that six explosions occurred on the Iranian islands of Qeshm and Sirik, as well as in the city of Minab. It is noted that Sirik, Qeshm Island, and some areas of Minab were attacked by U.S. fighter jets.
Iranian state television confirmed explosions in Qeshm and Sirik resulting from drone strikes but denied reports of explosions in Bandar Abbas and Minab.
