Pezeshkian read a poem in the Azerbaijani language
Today, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during his trip to West Azerbaijan province, held a meeting with scholars and civil society activists in the city of Urmia. During the meeting, the president recited a poem in Azerbaijani language, causing a surge of emotions among the event participants.

Pezeshkian quoted an excerpt from the famous poem "Heydar Babaya Salam" by the great Azerbaijani poet Mohammad Hossein Shahriar and accompanied his speech with lines emphasizing humanity, love for the homeland, and kindness.
The lines spoken by the president were met with applause in the hall:
"The sky is all in fog, our days are unkind,
Do not separate from each other,
The good ones were taken away, the evil ones exalted,
Good people were plunged into trouble."
