Today is the memorial day of one of the youngest martyrs of the Patriotic War - Jabrail Dovlatzade.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the hero was born on September 11, 2001, in the settlement of Jorat in the city of Sumgayit.

In October 2019, he began his compulsory active military service in the ranks of the border troops at an N-th military unit stationed in the territory of the Jalilabad district.

From September 27, 2020, J. Dovlatzade, as part of a special forces unit, participated in battles on the Murovdag front during the Patriotic War for the liberation of Azerbaijan's territories from Armenian occupation and the restoration of the country's territorial integrity.

19-year-old J. Dovlatzade became one of the first martyrs of the war. He was remembered for having strangled an Armenian general and a colonel with his own hands. He was also known to everyone as the hero who avenged Major General Polad Hashimov.

He was killed on September 28, 2020, during the battles for Murovdag in the territory of the Kalbajar district. On September 29, he was buried next to Major General Polad Hashimov at the Second Alley of Honorable Burial in Baku.

By decrees of President Ilham Aliyev, J. Dovlatzade was posthumously awarded the order "Azerbaijani Flag," as well as the medals "For the Motherland" and "For the Liberation of Kalbajar."
