Trump Named the Timeframe for the End of the War with Iran

The United States is not seeking at the current stage to negotiate and reach an agreement with Iran on a ceasefire. American President Donald Trump made such statements.

As TASS reports, the American leader said this in a conversation with journalists at Andrews military base near Washington, commenting on the question of the possibility of an agreement with Iran.

"Honestly, we're not seeking that. Initially, I wanted to make a deal. But a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, they don't have much of a country left. So we're not seeking that," the politician emphasized.

"Yes, negotiations can probably take place. But we are not considering that [at the present time]," Trump assured.

The head of the Washington administration also stated that the U.S. war with Iran would end immediately after the American elections in November.

"I think the war will end right after the elections," the American president said.

According to the American leader, possible agreements with Tehran should address not only the nuclear program. Trump stated that the nuclear issue would be 99.9% part of a potential deal, however other topics could also be brought up for discussion.

In addition, the U.S. president also accused Iran of attempting to influence the American elections. According to him, Tehran is counting on weaker politicians coming to power who would allow it to obtain nuclear weapons.
