A new candidate has been nominated for the post of chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan

The Cinematographers' Union of Azerbaijan (CUA) has nominated a new candidate for the position of chairman.

This information is contained in the CUA's statement released in connection with the conference scheduled for tomorrow.

It is noted that alongside People's Artist Shafiqa Mammadova, People's Artist Hamida Omarova has been nominated for the position of CUA chairman.

The statement, addressed to the conference delegates, emphasizes that alternative candidates must be provided for the chairman elections and that restrictions on their nomination are unacceptable.

"The CUA chairman elections must be conducted transparently and, most importantly, based on democratic principles. Elections held on a non-alternative basis cannot be considered fair," the statement says.
