Russian general practitioner Denis Prokofyev spoke about the unexpected benefits of apple cider vinegar, noting that it can help with weight loss and assist in neutralizing bacteria, however, when used incorrectly, it can harm health.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Sputnik radio, according to the specialist, apple cider vinegar has pronounced antimicrobial properties. It is capable of destroying pathogenic bacteria that can enter the body with food.

The doctor emphasized that dosage plays a key role. "Everything depends on the quantity - no more than one tablespoon when preparing dishes. Under no circumstances should vinegar be consumed in its pure form. In emergency cases, it can be used externally - for example, to treat bacterial wounds by applying it to a cotton pad," Prokofyev explained.

The therapist also reminded that apple cider vinegar is an acid and in excessive amounts can be dangerous for the gastrointestinal tract. On one hand, it can sanitize the digestive tract, fighting pathogenic microorganisms, but on the other hand, it has serious contraindications.

"Special caution or complete avoidance of apple cider vinegar should be observed in cases of chronic stomach ulcers, during periods of gastritis exacerbation, as well as with any erosive lesions of the gastrointestinal tract," concluded Denis Prokofyev.
