Georgia appointed a new ambassador to Azerbaijan
Giorgi Zakarashvili has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this is stated on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
It is noted that G. Zakarashvili has worked for many years in various positions at the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the country's diplomatic missions.
Since 2021, he held the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Ukraine, as well as the position of Permanent Representative of Georgia to GUAM.
In 2016–2019, Zakarashvili held the position of Counselor-Envoy of the Georgian Interests Section at the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in the Russian Federation. In 2012–2016, he served as Counselor-Envoy at the Embassy of Georgia in Ukraine and the Permanent Representation of Georgia to GUAM.
At various times, Giorgi Zakarashvili also held the positions of Director of the Political Department and Head of the Division for Relations with Central Asian Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
