Haber Global dedicated a segment to the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku by Turkish and Azerbaijani forces
Turkish TV channel Haber Global dedicated a report to the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku.
The report states that on September 15, 1918, Turkish and Azerbaijani servicemen jointly liberated the city. They fought shoulder to shoulder first in the Battle of Çanakkale, and three years later - in Baku.
In 1918, Baku was under the control of Armenian detachments, Bolsheviks, and British forces. After the proclamation of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on May 28, 1918, Baku remained under the control of opposing forces. To provide assistance to Azerbaijan, the Ottoman Empire's Minister of War Enver Pasha sent his brother Nuri Pasha to the country.
