Knowledge Day is celebrated in Azerbaijan on September 15.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the new academic year begins today in all educational institutions across the republic.

In the new 2026/2027 academic year, 2.2 million students will be studying in Azerbaijan, and more than 130 thousand children will enter the first grade.

This year, 75 thousand students were enrolled at all levels of education in the country's higher educational institutions.

According to the order of the Ministry of Science and Education on the organization of the 2026/2027 academic year in general educational institutions, the first lesson of the new academic year in grades 2-11 will be dedicated to the theme "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture."
