US President Donald Trump stated that European countries are experiencing a serious crisis and may not be able to cope with internal problems amid ongoing protests.
This is reported by BAKU.WS with reference to RIA Novosti.
In a phone interview with Fox News, the American leader stated that Europe is "dying," mentioning France and Italy in particular. According to him, the situation in these states is extremely unfavorable, and they may not even survive.
Trump also noted that the United States, unlike European countries, is thriving, and expressed a desire to maintain this trend.
Protest actions in France began in mid-September. Initially, the discontent of young people was related to the shortage of teachers and the unsatisfactory condition of school buildings due to insufficient funding. Later, other citizens dissatisfied with the situation in the country joined the protesters.
In Italy, a new wave of protests began in mid-October. Among the reasons for discontent are rising energy and fuel prices, inflation, as well as opposition to rearmament and ongoing military conflicts.
At the end of October, mass protest actions also took place in Germany, Spain, and Albania.
