Trump: US Could Strike Iranian Nuclear Facility Pikax Within an Hour

US President Donald Trump did not rule out that the United States could strike Mount Pickaxe, where he claims an Iranian nuclear facility is allegedly located.

The American leader said this in an interview with Fox News.

"We bombed them (Tehran - ed.) with the 'Midnight Hammer.' We bombed all of their potential nuclear capability. Now we may have to deal with Pickaxe," the head of the White House stated.

According to him, it is "not that big a deal" and would take about an hour. He once again pointed to the unacceptability of the Islamic republic obtaining nuclear weapons.

Trump said that Washington is not at war with Iran and continues negotiations: "We're not waging war. We've been working months and months. We're talking. They are in a disadvantageous position in the negotiations."

Earlier, the president had repeatedly publicly threatened to strike Mount Pickaxe, claiming that Tehran is conducting work there as part of its nuclear project.

Mount Pickaxe, also known as Kolang Gaz La, is part of the Zagros mountain range, the largest mountain system in the Islamic republic. It is located near the uranium enrichment facility in Natanz, which along with two other nuclear sites — in Fordow and Isfahan — was struck by the US on June 22, 2025.

In September of the same year, The Washington Post (WP), citing satellite imagery, reported that Tehran had accelerated construction of a secret military facility under Mount Pickaxe, building a tunnel deep into the Zagros range. The purpose of the facility was not specified in the WP article. Iran had begun building it back in 2020, claiming it was needed for the production and assembly of centrifuges for uranium enrichment.

According to expert assessments cited by Reuters, the facility under Mount Pickaxe is beyond the reach of the most powerful American bunker-busting bombs. The Qatari television channel Al Jazeera notes that the fortified underground structure consists of two tunnel complexes, and the great depth makes complete destruction of the facility unlikely. Above the facility, according to the channel, there are "hundreds of meters" of solid granite rock.
