The Government of the Republic of Armenia has effectively already begun implementing the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project.
As reported by Armenian media, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated this on November 2 at a joint session of standing parliamentary committees during the discussion of the draft state budget for 2027.
"The Government of Armenia, even before organizing further processes, will on its own initiative begin commissioning design work for the railway, highway, and power transmission lines within the TRIPP project. We do not want to lose time. As soon as the TRIPP development company is formed, the Government of Armenia will hand over the work already completed to it," the Prime Minister said.
"It is undoubtedly and unequivocally clear that as a result of the TRIPP project implementation, Armenia will be unblocked in all directions: both East-West and North-South. However, unblocking in all these directions does not at all mean that all infrastructure will become part of the TRIPP project. The TRIPP project will include the Nrnadsor-Karchevan railway, as well as power transmission lines and a highway. The issues of a gas pipeline and oil pipeline will be discussed later," the head of the Cabinet noted.
As a reminder, on August 8, 2025, following a trilateral meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint declaration on peaceful settlement between Baku and Yerevan and the creation of a transport communication link between the mainland of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. This project was named the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP).
The TRIPP project envisions the creation of a strategic transit corridor through Armenia's Syunik province.
The initiative is economic in nature and includes the construction of a railway, highway, oil pipeline, gas pipeline, and fiber-optic communication lines. The project will be implemented by an American company in accordance with Armenian legislation, without a military component. According to the plan, the United States will receive exclusive rights to implement the project for a term of up to 99 years, with the possibility of subleasing individual sections to an international consortium that will be responsible for the development and safe operation of the infrastructure.
