President Ilham Aliyev received the newly appointed Ambassador of Laos to Azerbaijan

On November 3, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to our country, Siphandone Oybouabouddy.

As reported by AZERTAC, the ambassador presented his credentials to the head of our state.

President Ilham Aliyev had a conversation with the ambassador.

The head of state emphasized that the ambassador is presenting his credentials following the official visit of the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith to our country last month. President Ilham Aliyev noted that the visit was very successful. He said that during this visit, which demonstrated the friendly nature of relations, issues of strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation within the framework of international organizations were discussed.

The President of Azerbaijan noted the high level of Laos' participation in the 7th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) held in Baku. The head of state emphasized the growing international authority of CICA and noted the importance of Laos joining the organization as a full member precisely during Azerbaijan's chairmanship. President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the support by all member states, including Laos, of the decision to extend Azerbaijan's chairmanship of CICA for another two years, and regarded this as a sign of respect for our country.

The head of state wished the ambassador success in his diplomatic activities.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, the ambassador conveyed to the head of our state the greetings and best wishes of the President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.

Thanking for the greetings and kind words, President Ilham Aliyev asked to convey his greetings to the head of the Lao state as well.

The ambassador also noted that the President of Laos once again expresses his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and our people for the hospitality extended during his official visit to Azerbaijan. He conveyed to the head of our state the invitation of the President of Laos to visit his country on an official visit.

The ambassador assured that during his tenure he would make every effort for the further development of cooperation.

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on issues related to the prospects of relations.
