Farid Shafiyev: Disinformation campaigns are being waged against the unity of Azerbaijan and Turkey
Organized disinformation campaigns are being waged against Azerbaijani-Turkish unity across various fronts.
As Report informs, this was stated by Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Center for Analysis of International Relations and Multiculturalism, speaking at the panel session "Dialogues of the Turkic World: Common Future, Common Vision."
According to him, intellectual ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey play an important role in strengthening the unity of the Turkic world. In this regard, Turkic states need to jointly counter disinformation.
Shafiyev noted that the attempts by certain circles to portray the rapprochement of Turkic states as an aspiration to form a new pan-Turkist ideology are completely unfounded.
"I would also like to touch upon the events in the Middle East. Azerbaijan coordinates its policy regarding the region with Turkey, and this causes concern among certain circles. In particular, we are observing the organized spread of disinformation directed against the fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the context of the Israeli issue," he stated.
