Silk Way West Airlines, the leading cargo airline of the Caspian region and Central Asia, has signed a new multi-year agreement with dnata, one of the world's leading air and travel services providers, for cargo handling and freighter ground handling services at Singapore Changi Airport. The agreement further strengthens the long-term global partnership between the two companies.

Under the agreement, dnata will provide handling services for Silk Way West Airlines' twice-weekly freighter operations at one of Asia's key aviation and logistics hubs. As part of the partnership, dnata will handle more than 100 Silk Way West Airlines cargo flights annually and process over 15,000 tonnes of cargo across various categories, including general cargo, temperature-sensitive goods, as well as special cargo — including equipment for the oil and gas, aviation, and aerospace industries.

Singapore plays an important role in Silk Way West Airlines' global cargo network, connecting the Asia-Pacific region with key markets in the Middle East, Europe, and other destinations. The agreement reflects the airline's focus on maintaining high operational standards, enhancing service reliability, and ensuring efficient cargo flows across its entire route network.

Onno Pietersma, Chief Operating Officer of Silk Way West Airlines, commented: "Singapore is an important gateway in our global cargo network, and reliable ground and cargo handling is critical for efficient and seamless freighter operations. Continuing our partnership with dnata supports our focus on operational excellence, service reliability, and delivering consistent and dependable cargo solutions to customers worldwide."

Tom Alwyn-Jones, Managing Director of dnata's airport operations division in Singapore, commented: "This agreement is a testament to the strength of our operations in Singapore and our ability to provide reliable support to cargo carriers at one of the world's most dynamic and well-coordinated aviation hubs. We work closely with partners across the Changi airport community, and our team takes real pride in that.

For us, this is first and foremost about consistent and reliable ground handling: ensuring timely aircraft turnarounds, seamless cargo flows, and maintaining high service standards even amid growing operational demands. This result is possible thanks to professional teams, well-established processes, and effective local systems that work in close coordination to deliver seamless operations at the required scale."

The agreement builds on the long-standing relationship between Silk Way Group and dnata, which today spans key international markets, including Amsterdam, Dubai, as well as several destinations in Iraq. dnata already provides extensive support to the airline, handling more than 1,000 flights and significant cargo volumes annually. Recently, the broader partnership has also expanded through the establishment of a joint venture aimed at developing an aviation services hub at Azerbaijan's new cargo airport in the Alat Free Economic Zone.

In Singapore, dnata provides a full range of aviation services at Changi Airport, serving more than 30 airlines and handling approximately 250,000 tonnes of cargo annually. Globally, dnata provides ground handling and cargo handling services at more than 90 airports across 16 countries. In the 2025-2026 financial year, the company's teams handled more than 888,000 flights and processed 3.2 million tonnes of cargo.

The new agreement underscores Silk Way West Airlines' continued focus on developing sustainable global cargo operations through strategic partnerships with trusted international service providers, ensuring consistent service quality and reliable cargo solutions for customers worldwide.
