Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China

On September 2, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation headed by Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Ying Yong.

As reported by AZERTAC, the delegation includes Procurator of Shanghai Chen Yong, Procurator of Jiangsu Province Zhao Tieshi, and Procurator of Gansu Province Shen Jian.

Speaking at the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev said:

- Welcome. I know that your visit is coming to an end. You are making a very important visit to Azerbaijan. I am sure that your visit has been very successful. It will serve the further development of our relations in all areas. I hope that you will leave our country with pleasant impressions. We consider your visit very significant within the framework of our strategic partnership relations.

As you know, since April, China and Azerbaijan have been operating within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership. I recall with deep gratitude the hospitality extended to me during my state visit to your country last year. My negotiations with President of the PRC Xi Jinping and other high-ranking officials once again demonstrate that both countries consider each other very good friends.

We are very pleased to see the great interest of Chinese companies in operating in Azerbaijan. Since April, continuous mutual visits have been taking place between our countries. Chinese companies are actively participating in projects in Azerbaijan both as investors and as contractors. Many important projects have already been implemented, but many are also at the implementation stage.

Of course, the strong mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries clearly demonstrates the commitment of China and Azerbaijan to the norms of international law. Yesterday, at the high-level meeting in the "SCO plus" format in Bishkek, President Xi Jinping spoke about legal norms, rules of conduct, international relations, and the equality of every country on the global map. We fully agree with this very clear vision. Mutual support, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equal representation of every country on the global scale, and a policy aimed at cooperation rather than confrontation are fully in line with our strategy.

Of course, an important segment of our cooperation is connectivity. The "One Belt, One Road" project, implemented on the initiative of President Xi Jinping, is fully supported by Azerbaijan. We demonstrate this not only through statements but also through practical steps. Today, connectivity between Central Asia, Azerbaijan, and China is an important factor of global cooperation and security. Last month, I made state visits to two Central Asian countries. Next month, I will visit a third Central Asian country, and of course, the topic of connectivity is an important part of our negotiations. Here, China is a major player in terms of cargo volume.

We see great potential for cooperation and a strong partnership in the area for which you are directly responsible. I am glad that you will spend several days here to hold negotiations with colleagues, get acquainted with the country, and learn more about Azerbaijan.

Finally, the last issue is related to the demonstration of friendship and mutual trust. This is the abolition of the visa requirement for travel to both countries. Now our citizens can travel without any visa requirements. And this is a very important sign of friendship. I convey to you my best wishes and wish you a safe return to your country.

I am heading a Chinese delegation of procurators that has arrived on a visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev. Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev attaches great importance to the exchange of experience and cooperation between our prosecution bodies and actively contributes to strengthening friendship and interaction between the two procuratorates.

On this trip, I am heading a delegation that has arrived in Azerbaijan. I am pleased that after participating in the "SCO plus" format event, You have devoted Your precious time to receive me and my delegation. In this regard, I would like to express my sincere gratitude on behalf of the prosecution bodies and personally.

Before the visit, I reported to President Xi Jinping that during our visit to Azerbaijan, our delegation would be received by You. President Xi Jinping asked me to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to You.

Mr. President, China and Azerbaijan are sincere friends, equal partners, and countries building cooperation based on mutual benefit. National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev laid a solid foundation for friendly relations between the two countries. After the establishment of diplomatic relations, both countries, remaining faithful to the principles of mutual respect, justice, equality, and cooperation, as well as relations based on mutual benefit, have achieved the formation of deep friendship and mutual trust.
