President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Pope Francis

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to Pope Francis, His Holiness.
As reported by BAKU.WS, the message states:
"Your Holiness,
On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I extend to you and through you to all your fellow believers my most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the Day of Coronation.
The current level of relations between Azerbaijan and the Holy See is satisfactory. Our cooperation, aimed at promoting harmonious relations between cultures and religions, the triumph of the ideals of humanism, is being filled with new content every day and is becoming even stronger.
I highly appreciate your personal contribution to the development of our cooperation with the Holy See and the expansion of our sincere dialogue. I am grateful to you for your consistently high assessment of the role of Azerbaijan, where an exemplary atmosphere of tolerance and traditions of multiculturalism prevail, in promoting mutual understanding among the peoples of the world.
I am confident that the relations between Azerbaijan and the Holy See will continue to serve the expansion of inter-civilizational and inter-religious dialogue, the preservation and strengthening of the values of multiculturalism, and the establishment of peace and tranquility throughout the world.
