A forest fire has broken out in a resort area of Turkey
A powerful forest fire has engulfed the Turkish resort area of Çeşme on the Aegean Sea, with flames approaching homes, and residents of three villages have already been evacuated.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this was announced by the NTV channel.
According to the information, the fire broke out at 14:40 Baku time in agricultural fields in the Ildır area, and due to strong winds, the fire spread to the forest. "The fire is being extinguished by 5 aircraft, 18 helicopters, 36 fire trucks," the report says.
It is noted that residents of the villages of Ildır, Germiyan, and Nohutalan have been evacuated due to the fire, and smoke from the fires is visible on the beaches of the Çeşme resort.
Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumaklı, earlier on Wednesday reported that fires in the Menderes and Seferihisar districts in Izmir province had been extinguished after several days. Forest fires also started on Wednesday in the provinces of Bursa and Kocaeli in the western part of the country.
