The bodies were found 200–300 meters from each other: new details of the tragedy at a well-known recreation center in Sheki

New details have emerged about the tragedy in Sheki, where two people died as a result of a cable snapping on a zip line.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the accident occurred several days ago at the "Sheki Yaylasy" recreation center in the village of Bash Keldek in the Sheki district. Relatives of one of the deceased - 30-year-old Gakh district resident Joshgun Mammadov - spoke about the incident to Xəzər TV.

According to the deceased's uncle, Iftikhar Saadov, he was the first to receive news of the incident and arrived at the scene of the tragedy.

"I arrived first and saw a person lying on the concrete. I looked - it didn't look like Joshgun. The weight was the same, but he was slightly shorter. I uncovered the face - he had a beard, but Joshgun didn't wear a beard. They told me the second body was further ahead. I walked forward and saw him under a large beech tree: he was lying covered with leaves, his neck was twisted. His girlfriend was nearby," the man shared.

The deceased's uncle noted that the bodies were 200-300 meters apart from each other. According to him, at the scene he was told that due to cable wear, the pulley had jumped off the guide rail. When asked why two people were on the line at the same time, creating maximum load, he was told that the structure was designed for 240 kg, which approximately corresponded to their combined weight.

The man is convinced that they both went on the line simultaneously: one should have completed the descent before the other started, but did not make it to the finish.
