Some endocrine diseases in their early stages may have virtually no pronounced symptoms. In particular, type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, and primary hyperparathyroidism often present with signs that can easily be mistaken for ordinary fatigue or the effects of stress.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to "Gazeta.Ru," this was explained by endocrinologist Yelena Chumakova. According to her, possible signs of disorders include unexplained weight changes, dry skin, mood swings, sleep disturbances, problems with memory and concentration, hair loss, constant feeling of cold, or heat intolerance.

With diabetes, intense thirst and frequent urination may also occur, and in women - menstrual cycle irregularities and problems with conception. In men, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and reduced muscle mass are possible.

The doctor recommends that people over 40 and those with a hereditary predisposition to diabetes or diseases of the thyroid gland and adrenal glands pay particularly close attention to the state of their endocrine system.
