Mount Shinmoe in Japan erupted with a powerful ash column

In Japan, the active volcano Shinmoe on the border of Miyazaki and Kagoshima prefectures ejected a powerful ash column over 5 km high. This is reported by Life, citing the SHOT Telegram channel.

According to scientists, this is the first such significant eruption since 2018. The ash covered an area within a radius of 50 km. At the end of June, Shinmoe showed moderate activity with emissions up to 500 m.

Also, the national meteorological agency raised the danger level of the Aso volcano in Kumamoto Prefecture to the second level.

As a result, three prefectures are at risk due to volcanic activity: Miyazaki, Kagoshima, and Kumamoto.
