Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan shared a post on his official social media page dedicated to the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), which was held in the city of Khankendi.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the publication states:

"We have concluded the 17th summit of our Economic Cooperation Organization in the Azerbaijani city of Khankendi. I hope that the consultations and forums held since July 1 on issues related to women, youth, and business will prove beneficial for our countries and the region.

I consider it important that this summit, which presents wide opportunities - from trade and transport to environmental protection and energy - has paid attention to climate change issues. Turkey is ready to share its experience and best practices with our organization. Together, we must take steps to achieve the goal of regional trade turnover of $100 billion and further increase it. I am confident that the document "Strategic Goals of Economic Cooperation - 2035," which will shape the next decade of our organization, will become a roadmap for us. Beyond economics and trade, cooperation in tourism presents us with separate challenges. I believe that the decisions of the 6th meeting of tourism ministers, held in the 2025 tourism capital - Erzurum, will be beneficial for us.

I congratulate all our Azerbaijani brothers, represented by my friend, President Ilham Aliyev, on the election of the city of Shusha as the tourism capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization for 2026. I also sincerely welcome my dear brother, the president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, who was with us today. I am confident that our organization will continue to strengthen solidarity with the brotherly Turkish Cypriots, who have been observers since 2012 and have long faced unfair isolation."
