Azerbaijan and Armenia have no disagreements on the Zangezur corridor.

As reported by TRT Haber, this was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan while answering journalists' questions upon his return from China.

The Turkish leader expressed hope for the early establishment of lasting peace in the South Caucasus:

"I believe that the South Caucasus, with God's help, will find the long-awaited peace. During the bilateral meeting with Ilham Aliyev, I saw this hope in his eyes.

The agreements reached in Washington between Baku and Yerevan have certainly accelerated the process of normalizing relations. Azerbaijan and Armenia have largely overcome obstacles to peace and have reached the final point.

We held extensive talks with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and then with the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. During these two meetings, I saw that both Aliyev and Pashinyan hold a unified position. There are also no problems or disagreements on the issue of the Zangezur corridor. Ilham Aliyev is much more confident in this matter."

According to him, the Washington summit helped determine future steps toward peace in the South Caucasus, which is extremely important for the region.

"Russia and Iran will eventually be convinced that their concerns about the Zangezur corridor are unfounded. Border crossings will be opened, and automobile and railway routes will be activated. This will have a positive impact, primarily on trade. This is also in Turkey's interests. All countries in the region will benefit," Erdogan concluded.
