Iran rejected accusations of an attack on the American embassy in Saudi Arabia
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that Tehran is not involved in the attack on the US Embassy in Riyadh.
The IRGC statement emphasizes that Iran condemns the incident and considers the accusations against Iranian armed forces to be unfounded.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that on March 3, Iranian drones attacked the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia. According to the publication, two drones bypassed Riyadh's air defense systems, penetrated the compound, and triggered a fire that lasted approximately 12 hours.
It should be recalled that on February 28, the US and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran. On the same day, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of US and Israeli strikes.
In response, Iran launched missile strikes on Israeli territory and also attacked American military bases in Persian Gulf countries. Due to the situation, a number of countries in the region temporarily closed their airspace.
