The Azerbaijan national football team has won the international tournament "FIFA Series – 2026".

As Report informs, the squad led by head coach Aykhan Abbasov defeated the national team of Sierra Leone in a penalty shootout.

Regular time of the match, held at the Mehdi Huseynzade City Stadium in Sumgayit, ended with a score of 1:1. Daniel Kanu scored for the visitors in the 28th minute, while Rahil Mammadov equalized in the 72nd minute.

It should be noted that on March 27, the Azerbaijan national team defeated Saint Lucia at home with a score of 6:1.
