President of SOCAR discussed energy cooperation with the Speaker of Parliament of Zimbabwe
On July 8, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zimbabwe Jacob Francis Nzwidamilimo Mudenda.
As reported by Oxu.Az with reference to SOCAR's press service, during the meeting, information was presented on Azerbaijan's energy strategy and globally significant energy projects being implemented on the country's initiative. It was also noted that a favorable investment climate for the operations of foreign companies has been created in our republic, where stability and sustainable development are successfully ensured.
During the conversation, detailed information was presented on the activities of SOCAR, which is transforming from a national oil and gas company into an international energy company, across various areas of the energy sector, as well as on projects being implemented in Azerbaijan and other countries.
Special attention was paid to SOCAR's green agenda, including renewable energy projects being implemented jointly with partners and decarbonization goals.
Additionally, it was noted that the company pays special attention to digitalization, investing in the creation of data centers and artificial intelligence projects. In this context, it was emphasized that three SOCAR enterprises were awarded the World Economic Forum's "Digital Lighthouse" award.
The parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in various areas of the energy sector, exchange of experience, and other issues of mutual interest.
