Media: Trump Ready to Soften Sanctions Against Iran
US President Donald Trump is ready to ease sanctions against Iran.
This was reported by Axios correspondent Barak Ravid on the social network X, citing an American official.
"President Trump is ready to provide Iran with sanctions relief and unfreeze frozen funds in exchange for concrete progress on the nuclear front," the post said.
Earlier, Trump rejected Iran's proposed plan to resume shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, Tehran wanted to reach an agreement that would provide for the immediate unblocking of the strait. The US President called such an agreement unacceptable. He also reiterated that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons.
