Woman spent $8,600 on wrinkle treatment, believing it would stop her husband from cheating

In China, a 58-year-old woman spent all her savings on "rejuvenation procedures," believing promises that this would stop her husband's infidelity, reports South China Morning Post.
A resident of Henan province with the surname Cui visited a clinic near her home. There, a surgeon claimed that the wrinkles on her face were bringing misfortune: "crow's feet" supposedly indicated marital infidelity, while creases between her eyebrows foretold problems for her children. Additionally, the woman was convinced that her flat nose was preventing her from attracting wealth.
As a result, the patient, yielding to persuasion, paid $8,600 - all of her savings, including funds set aside for her grandson's education. That same day, she received hyaluronic acid fillers in her face and neck, undergoing more than 10 procedures in a single session. However, by evening, the woman began feeling unwell - she experienced headaches, nausea, and difficulty eating.
Cui's daughter contacted the clinic and demanded a refund, but they stated that this could only be resolved through court. Eventually, the Chinese woman filed a complaint with local regulatory authorities, who have begun an investigation.
