MFA: Azerbaijan repatriated 16 of its citizens from Syria on July 18–19
Azerbaijan repatriated 16 of its citizens from Syria on July 18–19, including seven women and nine children.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Prior to the repatriation, the whereabouts, identities, and citizenship of the repatriates were established. Members of the interagency Working Group traveled to Syria, where their initial medical and psychological examinations were organized.
With the coordination of Azerbaijan's embassies in Syria and Turkey, as well as the Consulate General in Istanbul, the repatriates were issued return certificates, provided with airline tickets, and transported to the country.
Social rehabilitation and reintegration measures have been arranged for the repatriates.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Azerbaijan will continue to take the necessary measures to bring back its citizens affected by armed conflicts abroad.
