Famous former footballer, now coach Zinedine Zidane has taken charge of the French national team. The parties have already signed a long-term contract.
This was reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano on his social media.
According to the source, a verbal agreement was reached back in November, and now the parties have formalized it legally. Since the autumn, several football clubs had shown interest in Zidane, but he remained committed to his choice — to head the French national team.
Zidane had been without a coaching role since 2021. Previously, he headed Real Madrid twice: in 2016-2018 and from 2019 to 2021. During his tenure, the Madrid club won 11 trophies, including three UEFA Champions League titles.
