Trump commented on the possibility of regime change in Iran
According to American leader Donald Trump, regime change in the Islamic Republic of Iran would be the optimal scenario for the situation to develop.
"Probably that would be the best outcome. For 47 years, all we've heard from them is talk. During this time, while they were talking, we suffered significant human losses. This situation has been going on for a very long time, so we'll see how events will develop going forward," the US head commented in response to press representatives' question about the desirability of changing the Iranian leadership.
Additionally, Trump announced the decision to send another carrier strike group to the Middle Eastern region.
When asked what steps Tehran should take to prevent an American strike, the president said: "make a deal."
"If they offer us the right agreement, we will refrain from action. However, as history shows, they haven't done that. I would say they have a desire to negotiate, but they talk a lot and do nothing," he emphasized.
On February 10, the head of the White House warned the Iranian side of "very severe measures" in the absence of agreements with Washington. The president also called on Tehran to sign a "fair and equitable" agreement guaranteeing the renunciation of nuclear weapons. He cautioned that if they refuse, the country would face a "much more powerful" attack than in the summer of 2025.
At the same time, Trump repeatedly mentioned that a "large flotilla" is heading toward Iran "just in case."
