Saakashvili returned to prison from the clinic after three years
Former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili was returned to prison after lengthy treatment at the "Vivamed" clinic, where he had been in the medical facility since May 2022.
As reported by BAKU.WS, according to Sputnik Georgia.
"Since Mikhail Saakashvili's condition has been deemed satisfactory, and he no longer requires inpatient treatment, the former president was discharged from the civilian sector clinic and returned to penitentiary institution No. 12," - states the announcement from the Special Penitentiary Service.
The politician has been in prison since October 1, 2021. During this time, he has repeatedly gone on hunger strikes. Due to deteriorating health, Saakashvili was transferred to the private clinic "Vivamed".
His health declined after a 50-day hunger strike, which he declared following his arrest, so he was first in the prison hospital, then in a military hospital, and since May 2022 - in the clinic.
