The Basmanny District Court of Moscow has remanded billionaire Ibrahim Suleymanov to a pre-trial detention center until December 2, after he was earlier detained on murder charges.

This was reported by a TASS correspondent from the courtroom.

"The court has chosen a preventive measure for the accused Ibrahim Suleymanov in the form of detention for two months, that is, until December 2," Judge Timur Vakhrameev announced in the ruling.

The hearing on the investigation's request for a preventive measure was closed to journalists at the request of the Investigative Committee. It is expected that the billionaire's defense will appeal the decision to arrest their client in the appellate instance of the Moscow City Court.

The investigation also considers him involved in two murders, as well as the organizer of an attempted murder.

As clarified to TASS by a source in law enforcement agencies, one of the victims was the head of the Federal Service for Financial Recovery and Bankruptcy (FSFO) Georgy Tal. He was killed in 2004.

Investigators have charged billionaire Ibrahim Suleymanov as part of a criminal investigation into a murder committed in 2004.

This was reported to TASS by the court.

"Ibrahim Suleymanov has been charged with committing a crime under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder)," the statement says.

By court decision, the preventive measure will be chosen in a closed session.
