The trainer named mistake #1 that prevents getting rid of belly fat

Getting rid of belly fat becomes a real challenge for many, especially when people choose the wrong approach to solving the problem.
Despite exhausting cardio workouts and endless ab exercises, the desired result remains unattainable. Fitness trainer Jarrod Nobbe revealed the reason for failures and pointed out the critical mistake people make in pursuit of a flat stomach.
"It's the neglect of strength training," the expert emphasized.
"Clients are obsessively trying to burn as many calories as possible while ignoring one of the most effective fat-burning tools - dumbbells. It's like trying to bake a cake without turning on the oven... it just doesn't work! Strength training boosts metabolism, burns belly fat, and maintains results long after the workout is over," noted the trainer.
If you want to get rid of belly fat, strength training should be the focus. Nobbe explained that unlike cardio, which mainly burns calories during movement, strength training builds lean muscle mass that keeps metabolism high even at rest. The more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns around the clock.
Strength training also activates the fat-burning process known as the "afterburn effect." After an intense strength workout, the body works overtime to repair muscles and replenish energy stores, resulting in increased calorie burning for several hours after the workout. This means that every repetition, set, and weight lift continues to work for you long after the workout is finished.
However, one of the most important reasons to prioritize strength training is its effect on visceral fat. This deep, dangerous fat surrounds organs and increases the risk of serious health problems.
Research shows that strength training helps reduce visceral fat and improves insulin sensitivity, allowing the body to use carbohydrates as fuel instead of storing them as fat. Strength training is undoubtedly the most effective strategy for long-term fat burning.
The trainer explained that cardio alone won't provide the toned body most people crave, and may even lead to muscle loss if overdone. That's why combining strength training with cardio creates the perfect combination for fat burning. Strength training creates the foundation by boosting metabolism and building lean muscle mass. Meanwhile, cardio burns additional calories and improves cardiovascular health without compromising muscle gains.
And if you add diet to this, then the result will exceed all expectations. A diet rich in protein, healthy fats, and whole foods is necessary to fuel muscle growth, tissue repair, and support fat burning.
