The Secret Library of Sakya: 96,000 Scrolls, the Elixir of the Sun, and the Secrets of the Dragon Times
This is interesting 11

In the ancient Buddhist temple of Sakya in Tibet in 2003, an amazing discovery occurred that astonished scientists around the world. Researchers accidentally discovered a hidden passage leading to secret underground chambers of the temple. There, under a thick layer of centuries-old dust, they found enormous shelves overflowing with ancient scrolls. Initially, there weren't even enough workers to extract and count them all. By 2009, the number of scrolls exceeded an incredible 60 thousand, and after the completion of work in 2016, it became clear that a whole library of 96 thousand manuscripts was hidden under the temple.

The scrolls proved unique not only in quantity but also in the diversity of content. There were texts concerning astronomy, astrology, metallurgy, religion, alchemy, medicine, botany, mineralogy, zoology, and even military arts. To date, only 15% of the texts have been translated, while the majority still contain many secrets and mysteries.

One of the main difficulties in deciphering is the peculiarity of ancient Tibetan thinking - imagery and symbolism. For example, medical recipes include ingredients like "dragon tears," "fire air," "Qi breath," or "shepherd's light." Of course, it's pointless to interpret such names literally, but what specifically hides behind them - a plant, mineral, or something else - remains a mystery.

Researchers were particularly intrigued by information about two Moons in the sky that shone side by side for eight years until one of them "flew away to the gods in the constellation of Leo." Similar myths about multiple moons are known among many peoples of the world, but modern scientists tend to explain them as atmospheric phenomena like halos. Perhaps that's the case, but how then to explain the amazing medical descriptions?

One of the texts literally boggles the imagination:

"A warrior was pierced in the heart by an arrow. He was given the elixir of the Sun and his heart was removed from his chest. Then it was smeared with a special ointment made of 46 ingredients and returned back. After taking the elixir of the Sun again, the warrior breathed deeply, rose up, and returned to battle."

What amazing preparation is hidden under the name "elixir of the Sun"? This mysterious elixir is often mentioned in the scrolls, specifically in the context of complex surgical operations whose success surprises even modern specialists. Scientists emphasize that what is described in the texts is not a metaphor or symbolic exaggeration, but a description of real events.

Even more questions are raised by the mention of times "when the Earth was inhabited by lizards and dragons." Could texts describing the era of dinosaurs, about which ancient people could not have known anything, really have been preserved in Tibet?

Some researchers seriously suggest that these scrolls are rewritten documents from much more ancient libraries, or even texts composed under the dictation of mysterious foreigners from more advanced civilizations. So far these are just hypotheses, but the more these mysterious Tibetan manuscripts are studied, the more fascinating and enigmatic this story becomes.
