European Championships medalist Voyna beat up her boyfriend

Romanian gymnast Sabrina Voinea found herself at the center of a scandal after accusations of assaulting her boyfriend — the athlete filed a police report and had his injuries documented.

As reported by BAKU.WS citing Golazo, the incident took place on the grounds of a sports complex where members of the Romanian national team train. According to the publication, the conflict arose between European Championships medalist in artistic gymnastics Sabrina Voinea and her boyfriend — men's national team member Șerban Cotîrlă.

According to the source, the athlete was unhappy that her partner refused to spend time with her. After a verbal altercation, she allegedly began insulting the young man and then resorted to physical aggression. Later, a similar conflict occurred near the reception desk of a hotel located on the grounds of the same complex.

It is noted that throughout the entire incident, Cotîrlă did not retaliate or resist. He subsequently contacted law enforcement and officially had his injuries documented.

According to media reports, the incident may have been captured by surveillance cameras installed on the premises of the sports facility. The circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation.

Sabrina Voinea is a European Championships medalist and participant in World Championships, while Șerban Cotîrlă also represents his country's national team.
