Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected CNN's claims about the use of the country's territory for operations against Iran and demanded their retraction.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by the spokesperson of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aykhan Hajizade, commenting on a publication on the CNN World website.

According to him, the claims contained in the article about the use of Azerbaijan's territory for military or intelligence operations against Iran, as well as the alleged presence of Israeli forces on the country's territory, are completely baseless.

"The Azerbaijani side has repeatedly denied such claims. Our position was officially communicated in advance to CNN's editorial office in response to a relevant inquiry," Hajizade noted.

He emphasized that publishing such statements without convincing evidence, citing anonymous sources and disregarding Azerbaijan's official position, contradicts the principles of objectivity, impartiality, and professional journalistic ethics.

"As has been stated numerous times, there are no grounds for claims that Azerbaijan's territory is being used for military operations, intelligence activities, or other hostile purposes against any third state. Our country has never allowed and will never allow such activities.

Azerbaijan is committed to promoting peace, stability, and good neighborly relations in the region. Such baseless and unsubstantiated claims are yet another attempt at disinformation. We expect CNN to retract this article spreading baseless claims."
