Dutch footballer Quincy Promes has converted to Islam.

According to the source, the player made this decision after Moscow's "Spartak" did not extend his contract, as Promes could not leave the UAE.

"Quincy decided to change his life, as he believed that he found himself in a difficult situation due to criminal stories," - the footballer's close ones reported.

Promes visited a mosque and recited the shahada - the symbol of faith in Islam. He did this in the presence of witnesses to gain recognition from the Muslim community.

Promes' contract with "Spartak" expired on June 30, 2024, after which the club did not extend the cooperation. On September 5, the footballer officially joined "Dubai United" club, which plays in the UAE's second league.
