Air temperature in Moscow broke a record of almost 150 years

In Moscow on July 10, a temperature record was set for the entire history of observations since 1879: the air in the capital warmed up to +33.8°C, exceeding the previous indicator by 0.4 degrees. Roman Vilfand, Scientific Director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, told "Lenta.ru" about this.
"+33.8°C, and the previous record value was +33.4°C, which means the record was exceeded by 0.4 degrees. But in fact, tomorrow, of course, record values will be in many cities and villages of the European part of Russia," the publication's interlocutor said.
The day before, Vilfand said that a storm warning about extremely hot weather was issued in many districts of Russia. According to the weather expert, in the Central Federal District, the temperature can reach +40°C, while in the Southern and Siberian Federal Districts - +42°C.
On July 8, the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia reported that Moscow was in the grip of abnormal heat, and in the coming days, temperature indicators may exceed historical records.
