A trial has concluded in Baku for a serviceman accused of killing a 24-year-old man on the street due to personal relations.
According to Baku.ws, citing APA, the verdict was announced today at the Baku Military Court, presided over by Judge Jamal Ramazanov.
According to the verdict, the accused Ismayil Allahverdiev was sentenced to 17 years in prison. It should be noted that the state prosecutor had requested an 18-year sentence.
The incident occurred last June in the evening hours on a street in the Narimanov district of the capital. According to the prosecution, Ismayil Allahverdiev shot and deliberately killed his acquaintance Tural Kosaev due to personal relations using a firearm he was carrying.
After the investigation at the Baku Military Prosecutor's Office, Ismayil Allahverdiev was charged under Articles 120.2.4 (intentional murder committed in a generally dangerous manner), 228.2.2 (illegal possession and carrying of firearms, their components, ammunition, committed repeatedly), and 232.2.3 (theft of firearms, their components, ammunition using official position) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Ismayil Allahverdiev was serving extended military service. The case was sent for consideration to the Baku Military Court.
