Azad Mirzajanzade Development Program: investments in human capital and potential for change

In the context of growing uncertainty and complex transformations that modern society is going through, the development of human capital is gaining special importance - not only as an economic resource, but also as the foundation for sustainability, innovation, and social progress. It is in this context that the Azad Mirzajanzade Development Program was initiated, launched in 2023 and aimed at identifying and supporting talented, active, and socially oriented citizens of Azerbaijan.

The program bears the name of one of the symbols of the intellectual and scientific heritage of the country - academician Azad Mirzajanzade, whose contribution to the development of engineering thought, education, and ethics of scientific inquiry remains relevant today. The logic of the program is built around the idea that progress is possible only when society creates conditions for unlocking the potential of its citizens and creates incentives for transformative initiatives.

Selection Criteria and Philosophy

The program is aimed at citizens of Azerbaijan aged 18 to 35 who have ideas and motivation directed towards positive social change. Special attention is paid to critical and creative thinking, leadership qualities, as well as readiness to work in conditions of uncertainty and interdisciplinary challenges. It is fundamentally important that there are no restrictions on project themes: participants can present initiatives in various fields - from science and technology to culture, ecology, or social justice. Both social and business projects are taken into consideration.

Support Provided to Participants

The Azad Mirzajanzade Development Program offers:

● project funding up to 5000 AZN;

● mentorship from mentors and experts in relevant fields;

● participation in specially designed training modules adapted to the real needs of participants;

● access to an interdisciplinary community and opportunities for further collaboration.

Applications are submitted online. It is necessary to fill out a form, upload a resume, and a short video presentation describing the project and motivation. Participation is possible both individually and as part of a team.
