Silk Way West Airlines has received its fourth Boeing 777F cargo aircraft as part of its fleet renewal program
Silk Way West Airlines has taken delivery of its fourth Boeing 777 F cargo aircraft, which arrived in Baku on a direct flight from Seattle. This delivery is part of the airline's ongoing fleet renewal program and reflects its consistent progress in modernizing its long-haul cargo fleet.
The new aircraft became the fourth of six Boeing 777F cargo aircraft ordered by Silk Way West Airlines, confirming the stable implementation of the company's strategic fleet development plans. As part of this strategy, the airline has already retired two Boeing 747-400F cargo aircraft, which has further increased fleet efficiency and productivity. Delivery of the remaining two Boeing 777Fs is expected in 2027 and will mark the completion of the first phase of Silk Way West Airlines' fleet renewal program.
Commenting on the delivery, Silk Way West Airlines President Wolfgang Meier noted: "The delivery of our fourth Boeing 777F cargo aircraft demonstrates a measured and responsible approach to fleet renewal, as well as our ability to consistently implement long-term strategic commitments. The transition from older aircraft types to new-generation cargo aircraft allows us to increase operational efficiency, support sustainability goals, and create a solid foundation for the next phase of fleet modernization."
The Boeing 777F cargo aircraft is one of the most modern cargo aircraft currently in operation, combining long range, high payload capacity, and improved fuel efficiency. Its integration into the fleet reflects Silk Way West Airlines' strategic focus on operational excellence, reliability, and long-term development.
With this delivery, Silk Way West Airlines' total fleet now numbers 12 aircraft, reflecting its modern structure and alignment with the long-term fleet renewal strategy. Starting in 2028, the airline will begin the second phase of its fleet modernization program, which includes delivery of four Airbus A350F cargo aircraft and four Boeing 777-8Fs. In addition to replacing outdated aircraft, this phase will contribute to increased capacity, allowing Silk Way West Airlines to expand its operations while maintaining a modern and efficient fleet. Completion of this phase is scheduled for 2030, when the airline's total fleet will reach 20 wide-body aircraft.
