If your children have these signs... - WARNING to parents
"Speech and communication problems are widespread among children with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)".
Defectologist-speech therapist Fatima Mamedova told BAKU.WS about this. According to her, such children find it difficult to express their thoughts consistently when talking.
"These children often do not finish sentences. They quickly change the topic and have difficulty with the ability to listen to the interlocutor. Even with sufficient vocabulary, speech can be disorganized and incomprehensible due to rapid distraction," the specialist noted.
Fatima Mamedova claims that hyperactivity and impulsivity affect the pace of a child's speech:
"In speech, there is haste, swallowing of words, and distortion of sounds. Speech therapy support for children with ADHD is very important in terms of structuring speech, developing listening skills, and strengthening communication. Early intervention helps healthier development of both the child's speech and social skills."
