The Eurovision Song Contest 2026, which will be held in Vienna, will proceed with updated rules for spectators. Austrian broadcaster ORF, responsible for organizing the show, announced the removal of restrictions that were applied at previous contests.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Reuters, during the performances, spectators will be allowed to display all official flags that exist in the world, including the Palestinian flag during the performance of the Israeli representative.

The Executive Producer of Eurovision 2026, Michael Krohn, emphasized that the organizers do not plan to hide or embellish audience reactions. According to him, the goal of the contest is to show events as they really are.

Additionally, ORF will not mute booing or other sounds from the audience. The director of the broadcaster, Stephanie Groiss-Horowitz, stressed that the broadcaster will abandon the practice of "artificial applause" and will not interfere with the live reaction of the public.

As a reminder, the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will run from May 12 to 16.
