Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan announced that all technical expert assessments on the AZAL plane crash have been received
Kazakhstan has received the results of examinations from equipment manufacturers necessary for the technical investigation into the causes of the AZAL aircraft crash, and is now jointly with the commission participants, including Russia, summing up the findings.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to TASS, this was communicated to journalists by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev.
"The investigation is ongoing. All necessary examinations from equipment manufacturers, that is, GPS trackers, navigation equipment, the aircraft manufacturer - they have been received. The findings are now being summarized, and these findings will be agreed upon with the participants of this commission. The commission, as you know, includes experts from Azerbaijan, experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, representatives of the Embraer company, and representatives of the International [Civil Aviation] Agency. Therefore, in accordance with the standards of the international agency, Kazakhstan should finalize the findings within the next few months. This is regarding the technical part," Bozumbayev said.
As a reminder, on December 25, 2024, an Embraer 190 aircraft of AZAL, operating flight J2-8243 from Baku to Grozny, crashed 3 km from Aktau in Kazakhstan.
There were 67 people on board the aircraft (62 passengers, 5 crew members), including 42 citizens of Azerbaijan (37 passengers, 5 crew members), 16 from Russia, 6 from Kazakhstan, and 3 from Kyrgyzstan. As a result of the crash, 38 people died and 29 survived.
On January 7, 2025, the opening of the aircraft's black boxes was completed in Brazil. The obtained data was sent to Kazakhstan. On February 4, 2025, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan published a preliminary report on the crash investigation. The report presents a chronology of events and photographs of the damage.
