The Opta supercomputer named the team with the highest chances of winning the World Cup
The supercomputer of British analytics company Opta has increased France's chances of winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup ahead of the Round of 16.

The probability of France winning the tournament is 28.89%. After the completion of the group stage, it stood at 18.66%, although even then the French national team was considered the main contender for the overall title.
The top three also include Argentina (16.32%) and Spain (12.96%). After the completion of the Round of 32, Argentina's chances increased (previously standing at 16.26%), while Spain's probability of winning the title decreased (13.47%).
The top ten most likely winners also include Brazil (9.11%), England (8.14%), Portugal (5%), Colombia (3.38%), Morocco (3.21%), Norway (2.86%), and Mexico (2.68%).
The Round of 16 matches will take place from July 4 to 7. The first match will be held on Saturday, featuring Canada against Morocco. The kickoff is scheduled for 21:00 Baku time.
The World Cup is being held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament will conclude on July 19. The reigning champions are Argentina.
