The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and the National Intelligence Organization of Turkey are actively considering the possibility of sending their military personnel to the Gaza Strip. This potential step is intended to strengthen support for the Palestinian people and ensure stability in the region, where a ceasefire agreement has just come into force.

As reported by Baku.Ws, citing a statement by the head of the parliamentary group of the ruling Justice and Development Party, Abdullah Güler, transmitted by TRT Haber, the proposal to deploy troops will be presented to the Turkish parliament after a comprehensive assessment by the relevant agencies. Güler emphasized that Turkey consistently supports the people of the Gaza Strip and is ready to provide necessary assistance upon any requests, which confirms the seriousness of Ankara's intentions in this matter.

These discussions are unfolding against the backdrop of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip that came into force on October 10 at 12:00 Moscow time. As part of the first phase of this agreement, the radical Palestinian group Hamas has committed to return Israeli hostages, while Israel, in turn, must release 250 Palestinians serving life sentences and another 1,700 people arrested in the enclave since October 2023. All Palestinian women and children detained in Gaza will also be released. U.S. President's Special Representative Steven Witkoff announced on October 10 that the Israeli side had completed the first phase of troop withdrawal from Gaza, after which a 72-hour period began for the release of prisoners held by Hamas.
